Snow Tiger Martial Arts enjoys a long a esteemed lineage back to the roots of traditional Karate and Jiu-jitsu. The Chito-Ryu style of Karate was introduced in Canada by Sensei Masami Tsuroka in 1957. He is recognized as the father of Canadian Karate. Tsuroka Sensei was a direct student of Dr. Chitose who was the originator of the Chito-Ryu style. Tsuroka Sensei’s first student that was allowed to teach was Sensei Monty Guest who went on to establish the Kai-Shin Karate Association, of which most of the Snow Tiger Clubs are affiliates.
