It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Hanshi Scott Hogarth, a revered martial artist, mentor, and dear friend to many within the Snow Tiger Martial Arts family and the broader martial arts community. Hanshi Hogarth passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For over five decades, Hanshi Hogarth dedicated his life to the pursuit and teaching of martial arts. His journey began with a chance encounter that ignited a passion leading him to master multiple disciplines, including traditional Okinawan Go Ju Ryu Karate and Hapkijitsu. As an 11-time world champion and holder of seven black belts, his accolades were numerous, but it was his humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his students that truly set him apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hanshi Hogarth was more than an extraordinary martial artist; he was a beacon of inspiration. His teachings extended beyond physical techniques to encompass the principles of discipline, respect, and personal growth. Through his Milton-based Fighting Griffin Martial Arts Club, which he operated alongside his wife and fellow master Tammy for over 35 years, he touched the lives of countless individuals, nurturing not only skilled practitioners but also confident and compassionate individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n

His contributions to the martial arts were not confined to dojos and tournaments. To the members of Snow Tiger Martial Arts and Kai-Shin Karate, Hanshi Hogarth was a cherished friend and mentor. His visits were always met with enthusiasm, his words with respect, and his presence with admiration.
